INFO: In 2017, Hillcrest Cinemas underwent extensive remodeling. The lobby has been completely renovated to provide an upscale and inviting atmosphere. All auditoriums have been remodeled with new seating and interior finishes. There are luxury electric leather recliners in three of the auditoriums and high-back leather rockers in the other two. Additionally, the restrooms have been updated with new finishes and fixtures.
The newly remodeled theatre now offers wine and beer selections, which patrons are welcome to bring into any auditorium. It also showcases a refreshed concession menu, featuring the addition of pub-favorite hot foods to accompany our traditional cinema fare and the kinds of uniquely Landmark offerings our guests expect, such as Fairtrade chocolate bars, organic iced teas, vegan cookies, espresso coffee beverages, Italian sodas and the finest popcorn available.
Operated by Landmark since it was built in 1991, the uniquely designed Hillcrest Cinemas is Located in the heart of San Diego's Uptown District and represents the city's largest theatre complex dedicated to independent film and foreign language cinema. With 5 Screens DLP Digital Projection and Sound, the Hillcrest is located on the second floor of the Art Deco-influenced Village Hillcrest shopping complex on Fifth Avenue between University Avenue and Washington Street, and is surrounded by many fine restaurants offering international cuisine.
PARKING: Free three-hour validated parking is available in the Village Hillcrest Garage, entrances on 5th Avenue, 6th Avenue and Washington Street.
