Veteran filmmaker Carlos Saura, perhaps best known for his Flamenco Trilogy of the 1980s (Blood Wedding, Carmen, El Amor Brujo), returns to his favorite subject with the spectacular performance showcase Flamenco Flamenco. He teams again with legendary cinematographer Vittorio Storaro, who also shot Flamenco (1995) and Tango (1998). Storaro, a magician with light, the famed master who shot The Last Emperor, Reds, The Conformist and Apocalypse Now, delivers cinematography as gorgeous as the electrifying performances. Using the Seville Expo '92 pavilion as its soundstage, with a backdrop of paintings ranging from Goya to Picasso to Klimt, Flamenco Flamenco highlights the evolution of the art form by presenting both famous established performers and a new generation that mixes traditional elements with unorthodox ones to create "fusion flamenco." Dancers, singers and guitarists weave a sensuous spell, revealing the beauty and power of flamenco, breathtaking and magnificent. Featuring Rocio Molina, Israel Galvan, Sara Baras, Estrella Morente, Paco de Lucia and many more.
