“ADIOS AMOR: THE SEARCH FOR MARA MORENO” Twenty years ago, Bay Area filmmaker Laurie Coyle’s discover of hundreds of lost photographs of a farmworker, clearly a mother and union organizer, sent her on a search for Maria Moreno, a hero history forgot. Years before Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta launched the United Farm Workers, Moreno was driven to speak out by her twelve children’s hunger. An outspoken leader in the years when women were expected to stay in the background, Moreno was the first female farm worker in the U.S. to be hired as a union organizer. Moreno’s story was silenced and her legacy buried — until now. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Cqyj-MPcJg
