The White Crow chronicles Rudolph Nureyev’s poverty-stricken childhood in the Soviet city of Ufa, to his blossoming as a student dancer in Leningrad, to his arrival at the epicenter of western culture in Paris in the early 1960s and a nail-biting stand-off at the Le Bourget airport—site of the iconic dancer's famed defection from the Soviet Union to the West in 1961, despite KGB efforts to stop him. Directed by Ralph Fiennes from a screenplay by David Hare (The Hours), The White Crow is the true story of an incredible journey by a unique artist who transformed the world of ballet forever. Acclaimed dancer Oleg Ivenko stars as Nureyev, alongside Adèle Exarchopoulos (Blue Is the Warmest Color) as Clara Saint, and Fiennes as Russian ballet coach Alexander Pushkin. Also featured are ballet-world enfant terrible Sergei Polunin, Chulpan Khamatova, Olivier Rabourdin, Raphaël Personnaz and Louis Hofmann. Inspired by the book Rudolf Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanaugh.
