A taut yet darkly funny weave of interlocking stories, The Public Domain follows four survivors of the 2007 1-35W Mississippi River Bridge rush hour collapse as they endeavor to re-create their lives seven years after the tragedy. Each one, haunted by indiscretion and regret, is drawn to The Public Domain, a dark bar that doesn’t judge, located in the shadows of the new bridge. How each of them will navigate his or her way across churning emotional currents to arrive home again forms the heart of the drama. Starring Emily Bridges, Peter Christian Hansen, Mark Benninghoffen and Sara Marsh, The Public Domain is an exploration of transgression and redemption, sensuality and shame, and the eventual confrontation between public personas and private, unvarnished selves. Filmed on location in the Twin Cities by writer/director Patrick Coyle (Detective Fiction, Into Temptation).
