It's Baltimore, 1962, and a rebellious, “pleasantly plump” teenager (Ricki Lake) dreams of being one of the featured stars on the city’s #1 TV dance show. With huge hair, a big grin and all the right moves, Tracy Turnblad (Ricki Lake) sets out to make her dream a reality and sets her eyes on the prize: winning the coveted "Miss Auto Show" crown. "Now all of Baltimore will know...I'm big, blonde and beautiful!" Writer/director John Waters’ original 1988 version also stars Divine (Pink Flamingos) and rock legends Debbie Harry and Sonny Bono.
