Theatre Visiting Guidelines

What to Expect When You Visit a Landmark Theatre

Landmark Theatres Covid cleaning protocols comply with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local and state public health guidance, as well as the CinemaSafe™ program. Landmark Theatres is tailoring its requirements for health and safety requirements to local guidelines. At most of our theaters we still require masks and social distancing for everyone entering our theatres, regardless of vaccination status or local guidelines. For details see the individual theater information page for the theater you plan to visit. As you read this page, bear in mind, that we no longer have a blanket policy for all theaters. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe.

SAFETY for our guests and staff, is our highest priority. We have an extensive, detailed list of CDC-approved protocols that we will follow to ensure that your experience is as comfortable and safe as possible. More details can be found on our website, which will be updated as new information from the CDC becomes available.

For more information about the status of re-opening policies in your specific city, you can visit your local public health department’s website or use the CDC’s tracking page.

A limited concessions menu will be available.

All public spaces (e.g. auditoriums, seating areas or tables, restrooms) will be disinfected before customers arrive for the next showing. High-touch surfaces will be wiped down at regular intervals with EPA-registered disinfectant, following the manufacturer’s instructions (e.g. safety requirements, protective equipment, and contact time). Examples of high-touch surfaces are countertops, doorknobs, faucets and touch screens.

Auditoriums will be carefully disinfected between showings using CDC-approved disinfectant and equipment. This includes seats, armrests, cup holders, handrails, etc. Hand sanitizer will be prevalent and widely available throughout the theatre.

The building’s air filters will be replaced consistent with CDC, state and local health guidance and upgraded using MERV-13 filters wherever possible. Air ventilation will be enhanced to increase clean air.

Properly fitted face coverings are mandatory for all guests and employees entering the building at most of our theatres. For details see the individual theater information page for the theater you plan to visit. Face coverings may be removed for the limited purpose of consuming food and beverages while seated, if approved by state or local health authorities.

Our staff will be required to complete a health screening, including a temperature check, prior to starting and ending each shift. All employees will wear face coverings and gloves to reduce transactional contact. Hand sanitizer will be placed at key contact points for frequent use. Plexi-glass barriers will be in place at all operating point of sale stations to provide additional face to face protection.

To reduce cash handling, purchase by credit card is preferred. Reduce the need for a paper ticket by ordering tickets in advance online.

Appropriate physical distancing must be maintained at all times between patrons, with the exception of those who attend together. Floor markings will indicate a six-foot distance in all areas where patrons will need to stand in a line.

The seating capacity for each theater will be limited per state and local guidelines to ensure that proper physical distancing is maintained between each person or party (guests attending together). Groups cannot exceed more than 10 guests side by side. Due to the limited seating, we encourage purchasing tickets in advance and online at, as shows are more likely to reach capacity, in addition to avoiding lines at the box office.
