Mankiewicz (All About Eve). Beautiful Catherine Holly (Taylor) is committed to a mental institution after witnessing the horrible death of her cousin. Catherine's aunt, Violet Venable (Hepburn), tries to influence a young neurosurgeon (Montgomery Clift) to surgically end Catherine's haunting hallucinations.
