1 Screen. Built in 1946. Operated by Landmark since 1975. The Ken Cinema opened as the first theatre to bring quality foreign films to San Diego, and in 1975 was the second theatre to be acquired by Landmark Theatres. The Ken offers a wide variety of films, from independent fare to foreign language cinema to restored classics. The theatre also hosts San Diego's annual gay and lesbian film festival. The only theatre in San Diego to still run on reel-to-reel carbon arc projectors, in 2004 the Ken Cinema was refurbished with brand new, plush, comfortable seating.
The Ken Cinema is located in the heart of Kensington on Adams Avenue, just east of the 15 Freeway.
