Alfred Hitchcock re-united with star Cary Grant (Suspicion, Notorious, and the later North By Northwest) for this entertaining romantic thriller, set amid the rooftops of the French Riviera. Grant plays a reformed jewel thief suspected of returning to his former occupation, who seeks to catch the real thief to prove his innocence. Co-star Grace Kelly (Rear Window) complicates and enriches his pursuit. The film won an Oscar for cinematography (it is in widescreen color) and was filmed on location in Monaco, where Kelly met her future husband.
