In a remote fishing village on the Icelandic coast new economic realities are slowly eroding the local labor force. While aging owners of small fishing boats are selling their quotas to larger companies and leaving the local processing plants with less work, Thordur, the ruthless, proselytizing patriarch of the main fishing company in town, refuses to give in. Yet with failing health, he must summon his three children scattered across Europe to find an heir to his crumbling empire. What ensues is an acutely comical reunion.
